Mrs. Terrie Kember, Director
Terrie is the Director of the Loch Murray Dancers and a life member of the SDTA, BATD and the OHDA. Terrie is a professional member of Scotdance Canada and has been a judge with the SOBHD (Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing) for over 40 years. A former principal dancer with the Alberta Ballet Company, Terrie has training in Ballet (RAD), Highland, National, Jazz, Stage, Country and Irish Dance. Terrie is a professional voice actress, an Apprentice member of ACTRA, Executive Model with Models International Management and the founding Director and Choreographer of the RCMP Pipes & Drums Dance Team. Terrie’s choreographies are most often gold medal winners & she coaches many champion dancers.

Michael Patrick Farrell, TCRG
Irish Dance. Mr. Farrell is one of Canada's top performers and choreographers of Irish dance. He is a master of three distinct forms: Irish step, céilí and set dancing. Having competed successfully at a world championship level until 1990. He founded and is artistic director of the Celtic Dance Company of Canada. His career as a performer culminated with a personal invitation to perform at Canada’s Prime Minister Jean Chretien’s Farewell Tribute, broadcast nationally from Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. Most recently, he has provided choreography and artistic consultation for The Magic of Ireland, which will tour Britain, Europe and North America for the 2007/2008 season. Mr. Farrell choreographs, trains and directs professional dancers from alternate disciplines in Celtic dance performance. |
Shara Martell, BA, BED
Shara Martell has been teaching dance for 17 years and is trained in Highland, Liturgical, Celtic, and Cape Breton stepdancing. She is an award-winning choreographer and performer and has conducted workshops locally, nationally and internationally in such places as Pennsylvania, Florida, California, Utah, Scotland and Taiwan. She
has appeared in the award-winning movie "Margaret's Museum" and the television series "The Pit Pony." She has performed with such acclaimed musicians as Ashley MacIsaac, Natalie McMaster, Rita MacNeil and the Barra McNeils. Her dance training has been with the Forrester School of Celtic dance in Cape Breton, under the guidance of her mother, Eileen Forrester. Shara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Cape Breton as well as a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa. |
Sabrina Quick
Sabrina is a former Canadian Champion dancer with full teaching credentials with the BATD. Sabrina has 15 years of classical ballet to her credit along with her Highland training. She placed 2nd runner up in the Juvenile World Championships in Dunoon, Scotland. Sabrina was a principal dancer with the Ottawa Police Pipes and Drums Dance Team for 2 years. She will be teaching monthly classes with the competitive team of Loch Murray Dancers. |
Melanie Lemieux
Melanie is qualified in Highland and National with the SDTA. She was dance captain for the RCMP Pipes and Drums Dance Team for 5 years. She is currently a principal dancer with the OPS Dance Team, travelling and performing with the Band. Melanie performed at Carnegie Hall in New York as part of a special tribute to slain Police Officers of 9/11. A successful competitive dancer, Melanie won many awards at 11 SDCCS International events as well as Regional competitions and choreography. Skillful in Highland, National, Salsa, Hip Hop and many other dance forms, Melanie has completed her degree in Science at Ottawa University. Melanie works tirelessly with many charities & performs yearly on the Cancer Centre Telethon. |
Katie Scott
Katie graduated from Canterbury’s Dance program with distinction. She is currently pursuing a BSc. in Health Sciences at Ottawa U. prior to attending Medical School. Katie has been with the Loch Murray Dancers for 11 years and has taught since 2002. She has also assisted other Irish dance schools in the area. Katie is qualified in Ballet, Modern, Lyrical, and Interpretive Dance but maintains her commitment to competitive Irish dance.Katie has competed throughout Canada, the U.S. and Ireland at all levals including the Canadian Championships. Choreography is one of Katie’s passions. |
